TL 9000 is a cooperative effort, among leaders in the telecommunications industry, such as, Amertech, AT&T, Bell Atlantic, Siemens, 3COM, 3M Telcom…etc. They define the quality system requirements for the design, development, production, delivery, installation, and maintenance of products and services. ISO 9000 series of international standards is a foundation of TL 9000 and incorporates elements specific to the telecommunications industry.
